About MPA:

Montessori Peaks Academy (MPA) is a Colorado public charter school and tuition-based preschool located in Littleton, Colorado in the Jefferson County school district.  Opening its doors in September 1997, MPA was Jeffco's first Montessori charter school. Our philosophy and methodology is based on Maria Montessori's belief in the education of the whole child, honoring each child, and preparing them to be life-long learners and responsible world citizens. MPA strives to be an educational journey, preparing each child to uniquely contribute to our shared community. This not only includes cognitive and academic development, but also the emotional, physical, and social development of the child. The value placed on outdoor education at MPA can be seen throughout its 8.5 acres of land which features multiple gardens, a natural watershed, a bee habitat and pollinator space, as well as many other opportunities for children to grow and learn outdoors.

Each classroom is lead by a Montessori trained lead teacher with the support of an assistant. This allows for small student to teacher ratios in each classroom to support the individualized education that is the cornerstone of Montessori philosophy.  Students also spend part of their day in specials classes in art, music, and physical education along with weekly visits to MPA's amazing library to check out books, read, and take part in technology lessons. 

MPA provides programs for children from preschool (age 3) through eight grade. Kindergarten through 6th grades are tuition free. Preschool (ages 3 and 4) is a tuition-based program. MPA also offers fee-based before- and after-school childcare services. There are also various after-school enrichment activities offered throughout the school year. MPA also hosts a thriving series of programs for home-schooled students, grades kindergarten through 8th grade.

Being a Montessori school means that we don't have individual grade based classrooms but instead levels made up of multiple grades in each room. Click on each link below for information regarding our levels, a description of what Montessori is all about and specifically what makes MPA stand out.

It is the mission of Montessori Peaks Academy to achieve high standards of individual excellence by guiding the whole student through an exceptional learning experience based on the educational philosophy of Maria Montessori.

MPA's environment is not limited to its campus.  We see the world as our classroom and invite all aspects of its culture into our space.  MPA's adults work together to create a prepared physical and spiritual environment of equity and belonging through lessons, materials, and activities that promote cultural appreciation.
